Carlton H. Thomas
1935-2007
Carlton Hopkins Thomas Jr., 72, of Cheyenne died July 7 at the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Cambridge, Md., and had lived here for 32 years.
Mr. Thomas worked in vehicle maintenance for the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, and served in the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a parts man for G & G Auto Parts for 23 years.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Elsie Thomas, whom he married Oct. 28, 1957, in Cheyenne; four daughters, Virginia Irene Putnam of Gypsun, Colo., Elnora Louise Siders of Cheyenne, Gail Lynn Lyons of Okinawa, Japan, and Marlene Dianne Thomas of Cheyenne; his mother, Laura Virginia Thomas of Cambridge, Maryland; two brothers, George Thomas of Easton, Maryland and Richard Thomas of Baltimore, Md.; three sisters, Patricia Ann Fortson of Florida, Gretchen Seymour of Trapp, Md., and Carol Ann Parks of Cambridge, Md.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Hopkins Thomas Sr., and one grandchild.
At Mr. Thomas’ request, no services will be held.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens
Friends who wish may contribute to Veterans Affairs Hospice or American Cancer Society Research.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes.
