Barbara Ann (Dye) Lile, 83, of Cheyenne passed away Jan. 31 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Chautauqua County, Kan., to Joseph Isaac and Minnie Bell (Tannahill) Dye. She began her lifelong nursing career in 1958 at the School of Nursing in Wichita, Kan., and married William L. “Bill” Lile on Dec. 21, 1962, in Pratt, Kan.
Foremost, Barb loved people and her Savior, Jesus Christ. She accepted Jesus’ sacrificial death as payment for her sin when she was in fourth grade.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, Cheyenne; sister, Minnie Jo Northedge, Eureka, Kan.; children of the heart, Janet (Mike) Gleb, Cheyenne, and Sam (Ashley) Hopkins, Belton, S.C.; eight grandchildren of the heart, including Paul and Desiree Ives, Cheyenne, and Jacob and Kayla Cox, Cleburne, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 15, with lunch to follow at Faith Baptist Church, 708 E. Prosser Road, Cheyenne, with Pastors Tommy Miller and Paul Ives officiating. Burial took place Feb. 5 in Fredonia, Kan.
