This year’s Fort Collins Nursery Rock Garden Concert Series kicks off on June 12th with an amazing concert featuring Dead Horses. Described by NPR Music as “evocative, empathetic storytelling,” their most recent album, My Mother the Moon, earned a spot in No Depression‘s “Best Roots Music Albums of 2018” list, and Rolling Stone Country declared the Wisconsin-based duo an “Artist You Need to Know.”
The prolific and extremely talented Alysia Kraft (of Whippoorwill and Patti Fiasco fame) is set to get the night started with a rare solo set featuring songs that don’t typically make it into the Whippoorwill/ Patti sets. Since picking up her first pawn shop guitar at twenty-one, Alysia has been engaged in a full-fledged creative battle to make songs that she and other humans enjoy and relate to.
The concert is a fundraising event benefiting Project Self-Sufficiency of Loveland-Fort Collins and funds raised will support their mission to help single parents realize their dreams for financial independence while creating an improved quality of life for parents and their children. A portion of the night’s ticket sales and all donations from wine and beer sales go directly to Project Self-Sufficiency.
