Firefighter procession

A procession of official vehicles on 17th Street in Cody escorts a hearse carrying Tim Hart, a U.S. Forest Service smokejumper who was killed in the line of duty from injuries sustained while responding to the Eicks Fire in southern New Mexico. Hundreds of first responders, forest personnel and citizens paid their respects to Hart on Sunday. A Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region press release on Monday stated the memorial service honoring Hart will be Saturday, June 12, starting at 11 a.m. at Cody High School's football stadium at 920 Beck Avenue. The stadium will open at 10 a.m. for those arriving. Hart lived in Cody with his wife, Michelle, and dog, Dash.
