We believe everyone can give something to those in need, and when that happens, everyone benefits. That’s why we created “Everyone gives, Everyone gains,” a way to highlight how you can help people in need. Adopt-a-Bag 2019 to benefit Friday Food Bag Foundation

What: Adopt-A-Bag fundraising effort for Cheyenne’s Friday Food Bag Foundation

When: Now and ongoing throughout the year.

More information: Through the generosity of a totally volunteer workforce and space donated by Element Church, the Friday Food Bag Foundation delivers bags of single-serve, nutritious, nonperishable food each week to schools in Laramie County School District 1 and LCSD2 for distribution by school personnel to children who may not eat well during the weekend.

The annual expense of the program to deliver 900 bags per week is approximately $183,150 for 33,300 bags. Current funding provides only one food bag to each eligible child every five to six weeks.

The cost per bag is approximately $5.50. For a donation of $250, you can Adopt-A-Bag and ensure one child will have a bag every Friday for a full school year. Your contribution could change a child’s life.

How to donate: To make your donation online, visit the Friday Food Bag Foundation Facebook page (@FridayFoodBagFoundation) or cheyenneffbag.org to donate via PayPal. You also can pay with a credit card by calling Kelsey Escobedo at 307-630-4307 to use a secure Square device. If you choose to write a check, please make it payable to Friday Food Bag Foundation and mail it to P.O. Box 1186, Cheyenne, WY 82003.
