CHEYENNE – The Cheyenne Central speech and debate team swept through competition at the Poudre High School Kyle Doyle Memorial tournament Saturday in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Zach Dillingham won LD debate and placed fourth in domestic extemp. Kenzie Wilson placed fourth in original oratory. Kaycee Warner placed first in POI, while Ariellen Ivester was second, Lily Leman placed fourth, and Taelynn Cain was fifth. Julia Steele and Rory Dunning placed fourth and sixth, respectively, in dramatic interpretation.
Duo had four team placers, with Lydia Looby and Janie Leckemby taking top honors, Janissi Jones and Lily Leman placing second, Taelynn Cain and Victoria Madden placing third, and Lauren Hardee and Julia Steele placing sixth. Domestic extemp also had Kaycee Warner placing fifth. Colter Meena placed third in Congressional Debate, which also had Matt Cannon taking top honors.
Janie Leckemby won her third tournament in humor, while Whitney Brooks was second, and Victoria Madden placed fourth. Central had five placers in informative speaking. Ari Lewis won the event, Kinsale Day finished in second, Olivia Devine took third, Katrina Zaharas was fourth, and Tekoa Rohde was sixth.
