CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s Cancer Center is hosting a barbecue for cancer survivors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, on the Cancer Center’s back patio, 310 E. 24th St.
“Cancer Center staff will be on hand to visit with survivors, their families and caregivers,” Barbara Lawyer, CRMC’s oncology program manager, said in a news release. “The focus is to celebrate and recognize anyone who has had to contend with cancer – either as a patient, loved one or a caregiver.”
The barbecue will be on the center’s east patio and garden area. Parking is available in the center’s parking lot or the hospital’s north parking garage. The barbecue is free of charge, and no RSVP is required. Family members and caregivers are also welcome to attend.
“There is a special bond that develops between someone being treated for cancer and the person’s medical team. But once treatment has ended, everyone tends to go their separate ways,” Lawyer said. “Having this barbecue is one way for us to reconnect with the many people in our community that we’ve come to know and care for and to celebrate their survivorship.”
