CHEYENNE – A job to repair concrete slabs on various roads in the Cheyenne area began Wednesday, according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
Crews with S&S Builders will be repairing the slabs to provide a better driving surface. The project is broken up into two segments, one to be completed this year and one next year.
This year’s work will focus on Interstate 80 eastbound, including mile markers 357-362 (Roundtop Road to Central Avenue, including the I-80/I-25 interchange; the I-80 eastbound to I-25 northbound ramp; near mile marker 372; and mile markers 377-381.
Construction on the I-80 eastbound to I-25 northbound ramp will result in the closure of that ramp while work takes place – currently scheduled for mid-September, weather permitting. A detour will be in place.
All work on this year’s segment of the project should be complete by October, again weather permitting.
Drivers should use caution in the work zones and prepare for lane closures during the project.
Slab repair work will continue next year on I-80 westbound, College Drive, and Central and Warren avenues at Eighth Avenue.
