CHEYENNE – The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a man found Tuesday about two miles west of Interstate 25 near Nimmo Road.
The 43-year-old man hasn’t yet been identified, but deputies don’t suspect foul play, according to a news release from Laramie County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Capt. Linda Gesell.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a hunter that had gone missing near County Road 234 and Interstate 25 between Cheyenne and Chugwater.
The man dropped his son off at a home on County Road 234 at about 4 p.m. and then drove to the west side of I–25 to track a deer.
He was supposed to return to pick up his child when it got dark outside. When he failed to return, family members called the Sheriff’s Department.
Friends and family went looking for him and the body was found later that evening.
Although there doesn’t appear to be any foul play, an autopsy will be taking place Wednesday in Loveland, Colorado.
