CHEYENNE – The Laramie County Clerk’s Office has advice for new arrivals to the state: Get a Vehicle Identification Number inspection before going to the titles office.

The VIN inspection is a prerequisite for titling an out-of-state vehicle in Wyoming.

The VIN inspection must be done by law enforcement. Inspections are available at the Laramie County Sheriff’s department, the Cheyenne Police Department or the Wyoming Highway Patrol. Inspection schedules may vary, so it’s best to call ahead: Cheyenne Police Department, 415 W. 18th St., 307-633-6524; Laramie County Sheriff’s Office, 1910 Pioneer Ave., 307-637-6524; Wyoming Highway Patrol, 5300 Bishop Blvd., 307-777-4321.

A $10 VIN inspection fee will be collected at the time the title application is processed. For more information, visit the clerk’s titles page at https://titles.laramiecountyclerk.com.
