Mayoral candidate Amy Surdam will host the second of three forums from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in the Willow Room at the Laramie County Library, 2200 Pioneer Ave. The topic of this forum is education.

Special guest panelists include state Sen. Stephan Pappas, R-Chey-enne, and Eric Trowbridge, headmaster of Array Coding School.

Surdam’s first forum about compassion drew more than 30 people. “From that conversation, I learned that there are many compassionate people and organizations in our community who have a desire to do even more,” Surdam said in a news release. “I learned that being a compassionate person and community is a conscious and daily decision, and that there is a huge opportunity for our municipality and mayor to demonstrate and set an example for compassion.”

Surdam said her goals with the forums are to help create awareness and further discussion topics that impact the city at large while exploring possible partnerships and plans for forward movement.

The third and final forum will be about health  Oct. 25.
