I get tired of the constant bashing of our police department by whining activist malcontents and "snowflakes." Today, Friday, Sept. 13, there was yet another article demanding ridiculous citizen review boards.
Please allow me to share a personal experience. I served as an unpaid volunteer reserve deputy at the sheriff's department for 20 years. I volunteered for another two years as a victim's advocate at the Cheyenne Police Department. I came to know the men and women of these departments from hands-on experience, working side by side with them on actual cases.
I can tell you, without reservation, that we in Cheyenne and Laramie County are blessed with two of the finest law enforcement agencies in the nation. Sheriff Glick and Chief Kozak hold a tight rein, and any officer that doesn't measure up to the very highest standards is quickly "weeded out."
Yet we hear little about the truly outstanding job these fine men and women do every day. Rather, we hear the childish rantings of malcontents and "snowflakes."
It is time to thank God for our outstanding law enforcement officers and leaders. It's also time to tell the malcontents and "cop haters" in the community to "suck it up and get over it."
We already have the very best. "We the people" appreciate them and support them. So stop whining.
