Dodger, an adult male dog, is the Rock Springs Animal Control Pet of the Week. He is super sweet and good with other dogs, staff said. A meet and greet is always a good idea when bringing in a new addition to a fur family, though. Dodger seems to know his basic commands but is quite the runner if he escapes. He is neutered and will be vaccinated prior to adoption. This guy is one of the shelter volunteer’s pick of choice to walk every time because Dodger is so well behaved on the leash and off. Those interested in meeting Dodger can call Animal Control at 307-352-1455.
Maximus, a male dog who is around 4-5 years old, is the Red Desert Humane Society Pet of the Week. This handsome guy is high energy and loves playing fetch, going for walks/runs and even does well running along side a bike. He definitely needs a very active home. He does well with other dogs, but does tend to play pretty rough. Maximus was around a small child once and didn’t seem to mind him. He doesn’t care much about the cats in the office at the shelter and mostly ignores them. Maximus weighs about 70 pounds and is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Those who would like to know more and are interested in meeting Maximus can call the Humane Society at 307-362-1636. Appointments are available Tuesday through Saturday.
Jenny, an adult female dog, is the Green River Animal Control Pet of the Week. She is a very sweet dog who loves to play fetch and wants all the attention she can get, staff said. She was transferred from an overcrowded shelter in Texas, so staff members don’t have a lot of information on her past. She may be house trained, is up to date on her shots, and has a microchip. Her adoption will come with a certificate to help with the cost of spaying if needed. Jenny should be an only dog since she does not seem to care for other dogs. For more information or to meet Jenny, contact the animal shelter at 307-872-0570 from 2-4 p.m. each day.
