The 2018 Wyoming Energy Summit keynote speaker, Robert Bryce.

LARAMIE – Controversial journalist and author Robert Bryce will keynote the fifth annual Wyoming Energy Summit at the University of Wyoming on May 23. "

A senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute think tank, Bryce subscribes to an “all of the above” approach to energy research and production, arguing that efforts to fully eliminate carbon-based fuels are both futile and unnecessary.

Governor Matt Mead will deliver welcome remarks to kick off the day-long conference, which will engage attendees in a variety of energy-related issues, from the future of energy markets to the general outlook for energy sources important to Wyoming.

“Our goal is to bring together Wyoming’s most important energy stakeholders to seek solutions and share their vision for the future,” said Roger Plothow, president of APG Signature Events, which produces the conference, in partnership with the Wyoming Business Report and major sponsors, the University of Wyoming’s School of Energy Resources and the Wyoming Infrastructure Authority.

Bryce said his remarks will cover three compelling topics: the “all-renewable cult, gas goes global and the future of the grid.”
