CHEYENNE – The Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East boy's swimming teams both went 2-0 on Tuesday night at Cheyenne East, while Cheyenne South finished 1-2.
Central beat Newcastle 168-9 and South 133-47, while East won over Newcastle 123-27 and South 89-79. South's one dual win came over Newcastle 91-22.
Central had six event wins: Carson Birge (100-yard butterfly, 1 minute, 1 second); Connor Shuck (500-yard freestyle, 5:34.37); Ethan Merrill (100-yard backstroke, 1:00.14); the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Nick Allen, Riley Roedel, Logan Schaad and Birge (3:47.09); the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Matt Pietsch, Caden Cunningham, Roedel and Kaden Anderson (1:40.16); and the 200-yard medley relay team of Merrill, Jake Geyer, Tanner Johnson and Allen (1:45.80).
South finished with four event wins on the night: Jared Price (200-yard individual medley, 2:07.40; 100-yard breaststroke, 1:06.08); Luke Constantino (100-yard freestyle, 53.56); and Jonathon Ikerd (200-yard freestyle, 2:02.24).
Trey Turner (50-yard freestyle, 24.24) and Julian Yates (1-meter diving, 235.85) were East's two event victories.
Constantino from South qualified for state in the 100-yard freestyle, his second qualifying event.
