CHEYENNE – Laramie County Community College junior Riley Reiss won steer wrestling at the Central Wyoming College rodeo Sunday in Riverton.
Reiss posted a 3.4-second run during the finals to finish at 7.7 seconds on two runs. His 3.4 was the fastest run of the rodeo.
University of Wyoming’s Austin Hurlburt – a former LCCC standout – placed second in steer wrestling at 7.8 seconds. He had a 3.9 in the finals. The Norfolk, Nebraska, product also placed sixth in tie-down roping to claim the all-around title at Central Wyoming. Hurlburt is first in the Central Rocky Mountain Region bulldogging standings with 360 points.
LCCC’s Bernard Girard placed third in steer wrestling at 8.1 seconds on two runs. He is second in the CRMR season standings with 300 points.
The UW men won the rodeo with 815 points, while LCCC took third (310).
