CHEYENNE – Cheyenne Extreme under-18 fastpitch softball team split a pair of games in pool play at the Colorado Sparkler tournament Friday in Loveland, Colorado. 

Cheyenne beat Slammers Untouchables out of Aurora, Colorado, 6-3, and lost to Colorado Diamonds 4-3. 

Extreme (18-9-1) trailed 3-1 to Slammers Untouchables heading into the bottom of the second inning and tied it 3-3 after RBI doubles from Kaylee Wilson and Alexis Naughton. Cheyenne grabbed a 5-3 lead off a pair of errors in the third and added its final two runs off an additional two errors. 

Naughton was 2 for 2 – both doubles – with an RBI and a run scored. Kenzie Boltz was 2 for 3 with a run scored, while Trista Stehwien and Wilson also recorded an RBI. 

Janey Adair got the win for Cheyenne and improved to 4-3 on the season. Adair worked four innings, allowed three runs off five hits, struck out three, walked five and surrendered a home run. Michaela Moorehouse came on in relief and pitched the final two innings for the game. 

Adair stole home to give Cheyenne a 1-0 lead over the Colorado Diamonds in the second game. Extreme tacked on two more runs in the fourth to move ahead 3-0, but Colorado pulled within a run in the fourth and walked it off in the seventh for the win. 

Adair was 1 for 3 with a run scored, while Stehwien was 2 for 3 with a walk. Wilson drove in a run, as well. 

Ariana Galicia (8-6) took the loss for Cheyenne despite striking out nine over 6.1 innings. 

Extreme takes on Batbusters at 8 a.m. today in the first of two games.
