CHEYENNE — Barrel racer Amanda Welsh finished her run in 13.61 seconds to clock the second fastest time during the fourth round of the National Finals Rodeo on Sunday in Las Vegas.
The Gillette product pocketed $21,336 on the day and currently sits in third in the aggregate standings with a total time of 55.25 seconds. Stevi Hillman is in first with a time of 55.14.
Hillsdale’s Brody Cress scored an 85.5 on Outlawbuckers Rodeo’s Ols Tubs Little Muffin to finish seventh and out of the money during Sunday’s round. Regardless, the 2014 Cheyenne East graduate leads the aggregate standings with 346 total points. Chase Brooks is second in the aggregate at 345.
Cress has finishes of first, third and fourth on the week.
Buffalo bareback rider Cole Reiner rode Championship Pro Rodeo’s Rip to an 86 and a fourth-place finish to net $9,688. Reiner currently sits in fourth place in the aggregate standings with a total score of 340. He is sixth in the world.
The fifth round of the rodeo starts at 6:45 p.m. today.
